UK: A warehouse in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle could be transformed into an aparthotel with a rooftop terrace.
Proposals for the building on the corner of Jamaica Street and Watkinson Street also include a ground floor café.
The project, from developer Duncan Birch, would provide at least 50 aparthotel units and create up to 18 full-time jobs.
A planned three-storey extension would take the building to eight storeys, with a rooftop terrace offering views over the city.
A document included with a planning application for the project says: “The client, Duncan Birch, would like to re-establish the existing warehouse to form an exciting place for tourists to stay, locals to interact and a place that compliments the character and future vision for the Baltic Triangle.”
Birch said: “We are thrilled to now have this scheme submitted to Liverpool City Council. Working closely with our team at shedkm our aim was to sensitively repurpose this historic building whilst hopefully complementing the future development of the Baltic Triangle and perhaps gaining some fantastic views of the city from the rooftop.”</p
