Sri Lanka: Macksons Properties has announced plans for a 100-unit luxury service apartment project in the heart of Colombo.
An agreement has been signed by the chairman of the Sri lanka Board of Investment Dr. Lakshman Jayaweera and the deputy chairman of Macksons Properties, Milfer Makeen.
The Sri Lankan government is actively promoting projects that expand the country’s hotel room capacity, and aims to develop its tourism infrastructure to sustain 2.5 million arrivals annually by 2016.
The proposed serviced apartment project at Galle Road, Colombo 3, will have a development value of Rs655 million, and will feature 11 floors, with 100 apartments, restaurants, a swimming pool, gymnasium, room service, laundry service, high speed free WIFI and parking.
The apartments will be a mixture of one-, two- and three-bedroom units.
Macksons Properties is a division of Mackson Holdings, a Sri Lankan conglomerate with interests in manufacturing, trading, imports and exports in the paints, tiles, giftware, FMCG, automobiles, energy and leisure sectors.
