UK: A Sainsbury’s Local will occupy part of the ground floor of Marlin Apartments Lambeth North project.

The building, which is under construction on the site of the former Costain House near Lambeth North underground station, will feature 236 units when it opens later this year.

In February 2016 it was granted planning permission for an extra floor. At the time, Susan Cully, managing director of Marlin Apartments,  the largest owner-operator of serviced apartments in the UK, said: “We are happy to have received planning permission for an extra floor at our aparthotel on Westminster Bridge Road. This extra floor will offer our guests an even better view of the city, overlooking London landmarks such as The Shard and Big Ben.”

“With the rise of the bleisure trend, it is essential for hoteliers to include such a concept in the consideration of the needs of today’s business travellers. With this in mind, we aim to offer business travellers an easy way to incorporate leisure activities into their business trips regardless of the length of their visit,” she added.
