Australia: Metro Hospitality Group has taken over management of a serviced apartment property in Darwin as part of a strategy to have a presence in every major Australian city

The property will be rebranded as Metro Advance Apartments and Hotel, in time to capitalise on major forthcoming events including the V8 Super Cars and Darwin Cup week.

The property has 71 serviced apartments, consisting of 26 studios, 27 one-bedroom apartments and 18 two-bedroom apartments. All have separate living and dining areas, fully equipped kitchen, private laundry facilities and balcony, air conditioning, TV and complimentary high-speed wifi.

The property also offers secure undercover parking, on-site meeting/conference facilities, a key card security system plus an outdoor barbecue area and swimming pool.

Metro Hospitality Group’s managing director Peter Frawley said: “The management of a centrally-located property in Darwin made sense for us, particularly with the forecast growth of Australia’s northern areas, its closeness to Asia, and the property’s proximity to our hotel on Groote Eylandt.”

The company says it is looking to expand on the property’s current strong base of corporate and leisure clients, as well as government and military personnel.</p
