Germany: Digital hospitality platform NUMA Group has appointed Pascal Duval as vice president brand to take the company into an “unprecedented and visionary” future and set new standards in the industry.
NUMA offers innovative design apartments and studios for modern travellers that combine “the advantages of traditional hotels with the convenience and flexibility of short-term rentals”.
Over the past decade, Duval has served as creative director at companies such as ASOS, G-Star and VanMoof, where he was responsible for the brand identity, creative strategy and global communications. The list of brands and agencies Duval has worked with beforehand includes Samsung, Heineken, Sony, Levi’s, Converse, MTV, Wieden & Kennedy, Mini, Red Bull, TBWA and Nike.
After graduating from the Royal Academy of Arts, Duval continued as a multidisciplinary designer and broadened his horizon within the world of advertising and brands. He moves between traditional marketing, digital and physical experiences and has received numerous awards for his work, including a Grand Prix in Cannes, a Platinum Pentaward and several D&AD Awards.
NUMA Group CEO Christian Gaiser said: “Pascal Duval has been incredibly successful in guiding many inspirational companies in the development of their brand strategy. His extensive experience and unconventional, creative thinking will push NUMA in the strategic development of NUMA’s brand.
“We are very pleased to have Pascal join our mission as an exceptional brand evangelist. Pascal and his team will elevate our brand profile to the next level, as we are gearing up for further European expansion,” he added.
Duval said: “Over the past 20 years, I worked with numerous brands to strengthen their strategy, identity and communication. Now I am about to embark on a collaborative journey that will redefine and revitalise an entire industry.
“NUMA Group has a completely new approach to hospitality, and I am very excited to lead the brand creatively. Within this rebrand, I will shift my energy between brand, interior, communication and consumer experiences.
“I believe, together with the team, we will anchor the NUMA brand firmly in the minds of the modern traveller,” he added.
Operating more than 4,500 units in European cities such as Berlin, Munich, Rome, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona and Vienna, NUMA Group raised $59 million [€55.5 million] in growth equity capital in a Series C funding round last month.
Nick Abrahams, chief revenue officer at NUMA Group, will speak at the inaugural STRz Summit in London on Wednesday 18 October, when he joins a discussion on ‘Growing your inventory: the pricing, supply and demand dilemma’. For more information and to book your tickets, follow this link.
