room2 to debut in Bristol

UK: A planning application for a mixed use development in Bristol, which includes a room2 sustainable aparthotel, has been submitted.

The land in the centre of Bristol’s business district Temple Quarter is being put forward by IKB Developments for a mixed use development of shops, two hotels and residential flats.

If the plans are approved three buildings will be constructed on the site, which is next to Temple Meads station. The development will also be one of the final pieces of the jigsaw for the redevelopment of the Temple Quarter area.

According to the planning application there will be a  234-room hotel and an eight storey 168-room aparthotel. The planning documents show the aparthotel rooms plans to be for sustainable aparthotel brand, The Lamington Group’s, room2.

The aparthotel rooms feature kitchenettes, living areas, separate sleeping area and large bathrooms including accessible rooms. Planning documents also show the aparthotel will have a lobby, meeting spaces, a gym and retail area. The new aparthotel will overlook Bristol’s Floating Harbour.

The development will also include 108 build-to-rent apartments.

A public square will be a feature in the middle of the site with seating areas and landscaping, as well as public art and play space.

The Lamington Group, which has the room2 sustainable ‘hometel’ brand, has Bristol as one of its ‘target locations’ on its coming soon section of the website.

The Lamington Group will be updating SAN with more information when the development details are finalised. 

Plans were recently approved for another 19-key aparthotel in the centre of Bristol.
