UK/Portugal: Corporate housing brand Roomspace has installed solar panels at its HQ and is targeting additional renewable energy initiatives.
In April, Roomspace installed 33 solar panels at its Chessington headquarters. The panels generated enough power during the summer to power the company’s on-site laundry and offices all year round, as excess energy is fed back into the grid to offset winter usage.
Additional green initiatives include replacing its vehicle fleet with EVs, and utilising eco-friendly cleaning and laundry supplies.
Charles McCrow, CEO at Roomspace, said: “At Roomspace, we firmly believe that businesses hold the key to addressing environmental challenges head-on. Our adoption of solar energy is a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility. By harnessing the clean, renewable power of the sun, we not only minimise our environmental impact but also join forces with like-minded leaders in our industry.”
The company has also sponsored SOS Children’s Villages for the past decade, which provides education and housing to underprivileged children in Kenya.
McCrow added: “Our sponsorship of SOS Children has a significant impact on the lives of disadvantaged children, improving their situations and creating a better future for the generations to come.”
Roomspace operates serviced apartments across London, the South East and Lisbon.
