UK: Roomzzz, one of the UK’s largest aparthotel providers, has committed to providing at least 2,000 stays to NHS workers.
The company hopes to demonstrate a commitment to those working diligently to fight the Covid-19 outbreak.
Hospital workers directly fighting the coronavirus are being asked to either isolate, or locate themselves away from families in order to stem the spread of the virus. Roomzzz has already seen its offer taken up in its locations, first in Leeds, where its Burley Road site is a short walk from the hospital.
Naveen Ahmed, CEO of The Parklane Group, owners of Roomzzz said: “In these unprecedented times, we want to do what we can to support our brilliant NHS, who are on the front line of the fight against this outbreak and coping with unbelievable situations in a remarkably professional and brave manner. The donation of these facilities equates to a substantial charitable contribution already totalling £250,000, which is a mark of how we operate as a business.”
The brand has sites in 10 major cities in the UK, including London, Manchester and York. The group’s initiative is beginning with 2,000 stays, but is planning to expand should the crisis demand it.
Other businesses in serviced apartments have pledged to support virus fighting initiatives. Most notably, Quest Aparthotels have converted some properties into quarantine zones in Australia.
