USA: Developer Bedrock and hospitality company Method Co. have launched the 117-room ROOST Detroit aparthotel today on June 1.
ROOST Detroit is housed in the city’s Book Tower, which has undergone a seven-year restoration project totalling nearly $400 million. The project features 229 apartment units and 52,000 square feet of office space. It has three new dining venues, including a French restaurant with a boulangerie, a bar, and a Japanese restaurant with a sake pub.
The ROOST aparthotel features 117 furnished studio, one- and two-bedroom units with full-sized kitchens, stainless steel appliances, hardwood herringbone oak flooring and quartz countertops.
Guests will also have access to a bike share program, fitness centre and 3,000 square feet of coworking space.
The development team have also revealed Anthology, a special events platform with different venues. Event spaces include: the Conservatory Ballroom, a 2,800-square-foot space with a glass skylight; the Linden Room which can accommodate 150 people; and Graystone Lane, an alleyway with food and beverage spaces on the main level and rooftop.
Randall Cook, co-founder and CEO of Method Co., told The Detroit News: “We’ve been working with Bedrock on this project for over four, five years and just seeing the whole thing, the whole building come to life over that time period has been really incredible. From the restoration of the glass, the painted ceilings and all the common areas. Having that arrival as your first experience as you enter Book Tower and eventually make your way into the ROOST units is very special.
“This is also our largest room to date with 117 units here, and then the programming of all the elements within the building is going to be very exciting from Anthology, our events space on the 13th floor, as well as some of the other food and beverage concepts that are to come in the next several months,” Cook added.
The ROOST Detroit aparthotel marks the sixth location for Method Co. Other locations include Philadelphia, Cleveland and Tampa.
