UK: The team of SilverDoor apartments has acquired the Charter House building in the city of Lancaster.

The team had been searching for a new office space since 2016, a process which has ended this past week.

The company is not just moving in, however, it hopes to refurbish the property, beginning a multi-million pound process. By the end, it hopes to have created the city’s most prestigious commercial space.

SilverDoor managing partner Marcus Angell said: “The scandalous dearth of large, high quality office space in Lancaster city centre has been a personal bugbear of mine in the search for a space that does justice to our brand and our people.”

He added: “In Charter House, we have finally found a location that will, not only raise the bar for offices in the city but will also demonstrate our confidence in the future of Lancaster as a great place to do business. It is our hope that other companies will follow suit and bring further development and employment opportunities to the city and the region as a whole.”

The property has in the past been home to institutions like the NHS and HMRC but has been standing empty for the past two years in spite of its central location. Its refurbishment will keep the exterior intact while installing new, state of the art interiors.

This news comes after a year of business for SilverDoor, which includes ISO accreditation and a win of the Corporate Provider of the Year award at the EMMAs. This new facility will allow it to continue expansion plans, supplementing the UK team. </p
