UK: Extended stay hotel Staybridge Suites Newcastle is due to complete its £1.8 million refurbishment project in May 2024.

Located in the Quayside area of Newcastle, the Staybridge Suites property has almost completed the renovation of 108 suites following an upgrade of the public areas and 20 suites in 2019.

Amenities include flexible meeting spaces and coworking areas, a fitness studio, laundry facilities, a 24/7 reception and pantry, a breakfast room and a guest lounge. The property is owned and operated by Cycas Hospitality, which acquired the site in 2016.

Build partner Abrahams & Carlisle alongside project manager ADS Design & Brand Development Ltd have led the refurbishment.

As part of the hotel’s commitments to sustainability and landfill reduction, the majority of the original furniture has been repurposed locally. The property also provides an electric car charging station.

Lisa Crocker, general manager of Staybridge Suites Newcastle, said: “We are thrilled to share the progress of our refurbishment. The new-look apartments, which are incredibly bright and welcoming, will help us keep happy guests returning. The team and I are incredibly proud of the project, and we can’t wait to welcome new and familiar faces.”

In addition to the Staybridge Suites brand under IHG, Cycas also works with Accor, Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and Radisson.
