UK: Staycity will add 887 units to its London portfolio over the next few years, making it the fastest growing brand in the capital.
The new units will be across three developments, and put Staycity ahead of Art’otel and Curio – A Collection by Hilton, which are both planning two new hotels, with 503 and 436 new rooms respectively.
The figures come from the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database, which shows that 109 hotel schemes are expected to go live across the UK capital in the coming years, with 18,158 rooms between them.
In 2021, 41 properties with 5,697 rooms will launch in London, of which 15 are already in the pre-opening phase. Another 23 hotels with 3,798 keys are set to be ready in 2022, followed by a further 11 projects and 2,136 rooms in 2023, and 34 openings and 6,527 keys in 2024 and beyond.
In November last year, Staycity secured a €70 million refinancing package, which included investment from the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) and a debt facility with OakNorth.
