UK: Urban Creation, a property developer based in Bristol, is set to transform some of its serviced and student apartments into remote working spaces.
The company says the move is a response to an increase in demand for “work retreats” since the pandemic began.
It says employers are offering their staff ‘work retreats’, where employees can choose to visit a new city where they can work remotely during the day and then explore the city during their free time.
Jonathan Brecknell, director of Urban Creation, said: “We realise that this year has been tremendously tough for all businesses. We were hit severely in March when all of our leisure guests cancelled their bookings and the prospect of any future bookings was unknown. We get a lot of bookings for our apartments for those visiting the city on business, however the pandemic has brought a whole new type of booking to us. If we can help people take a break from their homes and offer out our apartments, then we are always glad to help”.
