South Africa: WINK Aparthotels has appointed Peter van Rensburg as general manager of the group.
WINK Aparthotels manages a collection of aparthotel properties throughout the Western Cape and is a subsidiary of the local and 100 per cent female black owned hospitality group, Indalo Hotels and Leisure. Its current portfolio includes WINK Foreshore in Cape Town, WINK Eaton Square in the Southern Suburbs and WINK Quivertree in Stellenbosch.
Van Rensburg said: “My career in hotels has been a vast journey of new challenges and learning experiences,” says Peter. “Each company, property and appointment has brought with it new opportunities to deliver my best and be the most inspirational leader to my team – and I am thrilled to be joining the WINK team on this exciting new adventure.”
He has previously held positions at City Lodge Hotels, Arabella Sheraton Hotel and the Simola and Pinnacle Point Golf Estates. “City Lodge Hotels founder Hans Enderle was a real mentor who inspired me to maintain the core fundamentals of hospitality,” he said. “The Arabella was a true five-star experience that put my abilities in managing projects to the utmost test, while the Golf Estates were my introduction to sectional title and hospitality rental pools.”
WINK differs from the traditional hotel model in that private real estate investors have invested into the properties. “The WINK team has expertise in both hospitality and property investment, which is the perfect recipe for an Aparthotel group,” said van Rensburg. “It gives individuals, investors and real estate owners the opportunity to share in the success of the tourism industry in one of the top destinations of the world – Cape Town.”
