WaterWalk to open aparthotel nextdoor to Dell HQ

US: WaterWalk is planning to open a 153-unit aparthotel next-door to the Dell headquarters in Round Rock, a suburb of Austin, Texas.

Construction could start next year on the property, which could open in 2020. Of the 153 units; approximately 78 units are multifamily unfurnished and 75 units will be furnished corporate and extended stay units. They will be a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom units.

WaterWalk pricing includes all utilities, high-speed internet, DirecTV cable television, and phone service for nightly or monthly rates. All rooms come with fully-equipped modern kitchens and a full-size in-room washer and dryer. Guests can also enjoy upscale amenities including an onsite fitness centre, breakfast delivered to each room, housekeeping, and 24/7 front desk service.

Last month WaterWalk, which was founded by industry pioneer Jack DeBoer, formed a partnership with Oakwood to form Oakwood WaterWalk, a new brand offering a purpose-built product that “provides a unique combined offering, including one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, that fully satisfies the wide spectrum of needs across the extended stay, multifamily, and corporate housing segments”.

WaterWalk has also promoted Mimi Rogers to president. Rogers, DeBoer’s granddaughter, had been executive vice president for WaterWalk, responsible for daily operations and management of its five main business groups. Prior to joining WaterWalk in 2016, she was in a Deutsche Bank rotational analyst program.</p
