Austria: Zoku has opened its third property in what Zoku co-founders Hans Meyer and Marc Jongerius, have referred to as the “most livable city in the world,” Vienna.

Zoku Vienna is located on Perspektivstraße in the central Second District of Leopoldstadt. The aparthotel is in close proximity to the Vienna University of Economics and Business, the Messe Wien Conference Center, and Prater Park, with its iconic Ferris Wheel. The Zoku Vienna is set in IG Immobilien’s Prater Glacis Complex.

Meyer discussed how Vienna is often referred to as the City of Dreams because Vienna was the home of Sigmund Freud, who originated the saying: “love and work, work and love… that’s all there is.” When discussing this saying, Meyer said: “Perfectly suited for this ideology, Zoku has been built for people who want to seamlessly come together in one place. And so much love and care has been put into this new spot in the neighbourhood by so many people!”

The building contains 131 Zoku lofts, ranging from the Zoku Loft (24 square metres) to the Zoku Loft XL (28 square metres). Zoku also provides social spaces on the seventh floor, such as a bar, a living room, a restaurant, and more. Public areas are available on the roof, with what Jongerius describes as “amazing views”. Communal workspaces, private worklofts, and meeting spaces are available for those who have work to complete during their stay.

Zoku Vienna will also host numerous social events for guests to meet each other. Hidde van Gelder, Zoku’s community and impact lead, said: “Zoku’s mission is to mix like-minded individuals under one roof aligning international residents with internationally minded locals.”

Zoku Vienna is available as a part of Zoku’s subscription service, which allows guests to stay at one or all of Zoku’s locations over the course of a month by paying a monthly subscription fee.

The opening of Zoku Vienna comes shortly after the opening of Zoku Copenhagan on May 10 of this year. Prior to these new openings, Zoku only operated a facility in Amsterdam. When discussing this speedy expansion, Meyer said: “After opening Zoku Copenhagen on May 10, today on June 1, we prove that despite COVID-19, tripling a hospitality company and going international in one month can be done.”
