Australia: Quest Apartment Hotels, a member of The Ascott Limited, has partnered with independent media platform Galah to amplify regional voices and boost rural tourism across the country.

The partnership aims to strengthen regional representation in the media while supporting local economies through increased tourism. Galah, founded by editor Annabelle Hickson, is known for championing stories from the bush.

Hickson said: “I am thrilled Galah is partnering with Quest Apartments. As a champion of all things regional Australia, Quest is a perfect match for us, with its impressive footprint of more than 100 locations across the country, many in regional communities.

“What truly sealed this partnership for me was discovering Quest’s commitment to providing free accommodation to young cancer patients aged 15-25 who live 100km or more from their treating hospital. This alignment of values, supporting regional Australians when they need it most, makes our collaboration not just strategic, but meaningful.”

With a national network of more than 100 properties including 66 in regional areas, the partnership also supports the ‘Quest to See Australia’ campaign, which was designed to promote regional tourism through curated road trip itineraries across multiple states.

Across the Quest portfolio, itineraries include:

• The Western Way – Fremantle, Rockingham, Bunbury

• River to Red Dirt – Bunbury, Perth, Yelverton, Kalgoorlie

• City Explorer – Melbourne, Canberra, North Sydney

• Darling Downs to Tropical Treasures – Toowoomba, Ipswich, Mackay on Gordan

• Journey Along the Murray – Wodonga, Echuca, Mildura

• City, Coast, Country Trifecta – Portland, Port Adelaide, Mawson Lakes, Adelaide, Mildura

David Mansfield, managing director at The Ascott Limited (Australasia), said the initiative will help ensure regional voices are heard while making travel to these areas more accessible.

Mansfield said: “Regional Australia is the backbone of this country, our partnership with Galah ensures those voices have a national platform.”
