UK: An application for a derelict community centre in Leeds to be converted into an aparthotel is being considered tomorrow.

Developers want to build an eight-bed aparthotel on the corner of North Lane and Bennett in the Headingley area of the city.

The building dates back to 1892 was once Headingley’s public library and police station.

It is also situated within the Headingley Conservation Area and the site lies within the setting of Grade II listed buildings, the Headingley Taps and its separately listed lodge, gate piers and boundary wall.

The proposed plans feature an aparthotel with accommodation across three floors.

The property will offer six one-bed studios and two apartments, all with separate living and kitchen areas.

Guests will access the property using a PIN code and will able to make use of a conference room for up to six people, and a utility room on the ground floor.

There are no car parking spaces provided but a public (pay and display) car park is close by at the Headingley Taps Public House. Bike storage will be available.

The planning decision will be tomorrow.

In January this year Supercity submitted revised plans for its 61-bed aparthotel in Leeds city centre (pictured).
