UK: Marriott International has announced the appointment of Joanna Chugh as area vice president for the UK, Ireland and Nordics.
Chugh was previously vice president, finance operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa, where she was responsible for Marriott’s 1,000 hotels in the region.
Her new role, will involve overseeing 60 managed hotels in northern Europe, including the extended stay brand Residence Inn, as well as JW Marriott, W Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton, and Autograph Collection.

With a career spanning several operational and financial leadership roles across multiple regions, she brings extensive hospitality experience, strong relationships with our ownership community and comprehensive knowledge of hospitality.”
Chugh, originally from Dublin, began her career in 1992 working at hotels across Europe, before joining Marriott in 1996. She rose through the ranks taking on operational and financial positions across Marriott’s UK and Ireland portfolio, before taking a corporate role in 2013 responsible for finance for Western Europe. She then led the finance operations team for the UK and Ireland, Europe and finally EMEA.
Marriott opened its first UK dual-branded property in Slough with the Residence Inn Moxy hotel last year.
