UK: Developer Modo Bloc has submitted two aparthotel proposals for Newcastle.

One plan is to build 28 apartments on Foundry Lane, Ouseburn, in the city. Previously the brownfield site was given planning consent for a mixed use development by the same design team.

The £8.5m project will offer an aparthotel with a range of accommodation from one, two and three bed apartments, as well as one four-bed apartment.

Plans for the ground floor show it might offer retail and commercial units, as well as a car park and bicycle parking.

Modo Bloc is aiming for the new aparthotel to be similar to the Chelmsford Lofts aparthotel in Sandyford, Newcastle, which it opened in 2021.

The second aparthotel Modo Bloc has planned is in phase two of its development, and according to the website, is still in planning stages. Known as Back Malings aparthotel, the project is located in the same trendy area of Ouseburn in Newcastle. Plans include a 48-key aparthotel with river views along with a bar, restaurant and private parking.

In June this year we reported Your Lofts would manage Springfield Park apartments in Newcastle.
