UK: Native has reopened its Edinburgh aparthotel after a £500,000 refurbishment.

The revamp, over the last 14 months, has refreshed the public spaces as well as the 82 apartments. The brand has also added a speakeasy bar, The Counter, which will run a  cultural programme highlighting local produce and talent.

The 82 apartments range from studios to one bed and premium one bed apartments.

The new design has been inspired by the inventors who lived in the Scottish capital, including John Logie Baird, Sir Alexander Fleming and William Cullen. Their legacy is reflected in the decor and artwork around the building.

The lobby decor has taken inspiration from the city’s Royal Botanic Gardens, with botanical prints and various shades of green.

Olivia Immesi, managing director for Native said: “Each Native site celebrates the best of its surrounding area and Native Edinburgh’s refurbishment reflects the history of the city, and a focus on local culture to allow guests to plug into the city, whether they’re passing through or staying for longer.”

The cultural programme, hosted at the new speakeasy bar The Counter, will offer a range of events to highlight local produce during the day, and talented locals in the evenings.

The Edinburgh aparthotel first opened in December 2021.

Native has 11 aparthotels across London, Manchester and Scotland.
