ASIA: NH Hotels has revealed plans to open its first property in Asia next year with an aparthotel in Thailand.

The 271-key property will include hotel rooms and serviced apartments, and guests will be able to use the all-day restaurant, lobby cafe, swimming pool with bar, gym, tennis court and kids’ club.

The aparthotel will also offer meeting and events facilities, including a 1,000 sqm marquee, business centre and parking.

The new offering will be a refresh of the existing Boat Lagoon Resort, on the east coast of Phuket in Thailand. The Boat Lagoon marina is a vibrant area with shops, restaurants and bars and the new hotel will be known as the NH Boat Lagoon Phuket Resort.

William E Heinecke, chairman and founder of Minor International, said: “We are delighted to partner with Phuket Boat Lagoon Co. Ltd., for the launch of our first NH Hotel in Asia. It is a great pleasure to work with like minded partners who are also committed to developing and enhancing the tourism sector in the region.”

Dillip Rajakarier, group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels, added: “We are pleased to announce our strategic partnership with Phuket Boat Lagoon Co. Ltd to bring the NH brand to Thailand and establish the property as the brand’s launchpad in the Asian market. We look forward to working together to further position the property as a key leisure and MICE destination in Phuket, as well as driving the high-potential long-stay segment.”

NH Boat Lagoon Phuket Resort will open in the first quarter of next year.

NH Hotel Group, which also includes the premium NH collection brand and lifestyle brand Nhow, was acquired by Minor Hotels in 2018. It currently has 330 hotels in 30 countries across Europe and the Americas.

NH Hotels made its debut in Dubai last month.
