Oakwood hits 10,000 unit milestone with Melbourne opening

Australia: Oakwood Premier Melbourne has opened its doors to guests, bringing Oakwood’s portfolio under management to more than 10,000 keys.

The new property features 132 hotel rooms and 260 serviced apartments, housed in one of the tallest, single-purpose developments in Australia, reaching 140 metres and 40 storeys high. It offers far-reaching views take in the CBD, Yarra River, South Melbourne, Albert Park and Port Phillip Bay.

The Oakwood Premier brand is now present in ten major cities, with further schemes in Phnom Penh and Kuala Lumpur in the pipeline.

Oakwood Premier Melbourne includes all-day dining destination the Fifth – offering modern Australian cuisine with a Pacific Rim influence – along with a range of other amenities including a Sky Bar, a fitness centre, three meeting rooms and two multipurpose event venues.

Guests can also make use of the hotel’s coworking space and games centre, as well as two outdoor green spaces. The property, which represents the debut of the Oakwood Premier brand in Australasia, is a short walk from Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, South Melbourne Market and Marvel Stadium.
