UK: Plans have been approved for the conversion of part of a listed building in Glasgow
The development includes the refurbishment, regeneration and extension of the building to convert the currently vacant upper floors into one-bedroom serviced apartments and studios.
The building, at 51-57 West Regent Street, known as Castle Chambers, currently houses bar Cova on the lower floors. The offices above have been empty and on the ‘at risk’ list for more than 20 years.
Wellwood Leslie Architects has put forward the extensive redesign, refurbishment and build on the upper floors of the property, including converting the 7th floor into a communal lounge, gym and terrace.
Other recent plans for conversions of listed buildings in the city include the Category B and C Listed former Cleland Testimonial building, George Hotel and Commercial Hotel buildings.
