UK: Plans have been submitted for a six key aparthotel in Carbis Bay, Cornwall, overlooking Porthrepta Beach.

The proposed development is for six aparthotel units and associated development, which has been described as “a high-quality addition to tourist accommodation in Carbis Bay and St Ives.”

The application by Carbis Bay Aparthotel Ltd proposes a two-storey building with “rooftop stair and lift glass access to communal terraces and pools that serve all of the aparthotel”.

Solar PVs to the rooftops are also proposed and there is an intention to explore the potential for ground source but this requires further investigations. The plans also include six car parking spaces and six bike spaces.

Poynton Bradbury Wynton Cole are the architects for the aparthotel, which is being built close to the beach and tucked just below the striking Carbis Bay viaduct.

In 2019 SAN reported on an aparthotel for Wadebridge in Cornwall just before the pandemic struck.
