UK: Plans for a 26-key aparthotel in Southampton have been re-submitted after being refused last year.

Sabre Commercial Investments Ltd has submitted plans for a 26-key aparthotel in a three storey building, which was previously offices.

Developers plan to demolish the late Victorian-era building for the new aparthotel, although there are calls for the newbuild to “echo” the character of the original building.

Plans include nine car parking spaces and space for 20 bikes. There will also be EV charging points and an e-scooter docking station.

The aparthotel will offer guests a gym, cafe and laundry room.

The site is at 382 Winchester Road off Hollybrook Roundabout, close to Southampton Hospital which, according to the planning document statement, would be ideal for NHS staff working on short term contracts.

Last year Flying Butler launched a new extended stay property in Southampton.
