UK: Aparthotel plans have been submitted for Bishop Auckland a town in County Durham

The 19-key aparthotel will be on Princes Street in an old NHS building, and will offer a range of accommodation from studio to one bed apartments, across three floors.

There will be parking on the site for twelve vehicles in the carpark which was once used by NHS workers.

Earlier this year plans for a 19-bed aparthotel were submitted to convert a County Durham pub into a 19-bed aparthotel. Developer Paul Million at Vurv Ltd and Cellar Door Architecture put forward plans for a three storey extension at the rear of the property in Barnard Castle.

Other extended stay developments include Daniel Craig Residential’s multi-million pound refurb of Durham County Club, which saw the creation of 12 serviced apartments in 2019.

Durham County Council is still considering its decision on the application for Princes Street.
