Primestar Group launches long stay brand and makes three key appointments

GERMANY: The hotel operating company Primestar Group has announced the appointment of three key members to the executive team.

Primestar Group, which operates 15 franchise hotels in major German cities, has launched its own brand and  made several key changes to its top team. 

With franchise brands in its portfolio, such as Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Hampton by Hilton, the group launched its own brand June Six (boutique hotel market) this year with the plan to expand to up to 20 properties, including June Stay, a long-stay concept, and workspace network WorX. 

Hendrik Engel has been appointed as director of operations of Primestar operator GmbH for the new brand June SiX Hotels. He is responsible for the roll-out of the new brand June Six and June Stay the group’s long stay offering. Previously, Engel held a range of positions across the international hotel industry and opened Europe’s largest Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Düsseldorf as general manager last year.

Khrisna Canares is now responsible for the sales and marketing department of Primestar Group with a focus on digitalisation. She will be responsible for the marketing and positioning of the franchise hotels and the new own brands June Six, June Stay, and WorX. Canares has a strong background in coworking, leisure, corporate, MICE and the long stay sector. 

Dieter Esslinger is responsible for the entire franchise division as newly appointed managing director of Primestar Hospitality GmbH together with existing managing director Oliver Kupka. Esslinger, who has been with the group since 2017, will lead the operations and strategic growth for both franchise subsidiaries of Primestar. Esslinger has more than 15 years of experience in the branded hotel industry in Germany and Austria. 

Andreas Erben will retire from all operational functions and will remain as shareholder.
