UK: The structural works of the Adagio Original Aparthotel in Belfast city centre has completed, forming part of a £25 million redevelopment of an existing office building.

Construction began in summer 2025, with the Adagio Original Belfast city centre aparthotel expected to open in April 2027.

The redevelopment will retain the existing building frame while adding two additional storeys, increasing the structure to include ground floor plus 10 floors of accommodation.

The building has also been designed to be carbon neutral in operation, incorporating a fully electric energy system utilising air source heat pumps to provide hot water, high-efficiency heating and cooling, and locally sourced building materials.

When complete, it will offer 136 apartments including a mix of studios and one-beds. Each apartment will include a  living area with a workspace, fully equipped kitchen, air-conditioning and a bathroom. Amenities are set to include daily breakfast and a 24/7 pizza bar.

Rajesh Rana, director of Andras House, the developer of the site, said: “Reaching this important construction milestone demonstrates our continued commitment to investing in Belfast and our strong confidence in the tourism and hospitality market in Northern Ireland. This Adagio Aparthotel will introduce a high-quality extended-stay offering to the city centre, perfectly suited to modern travellers who value space, flexibility and community during their stay.”

Arthur Jaeger, director of development and programs – Adagio, said: “Belfast is a dynamic and fast-growing UK city, making it a natural destination for Adagio’s continued expansion. This new aparthotel, which combines the comfort of an apartment with the services and convivial atmosphere that define the Adagio experience, perfectly reflects our ambition to develop high-quality extended-stay accommodation in key urban destinations. We are delighted to partner with Andras House on this project and look forward to welcoming guests!”

Project partners include main contractor Martin & Hamilton and funder Danske Bank.
