Finland: The Ascott Limited will debut its Oakwood brand in the Nordic region with a premium resort bordering Finland’s Nuuksio National Park, set to open in early 2028.
Oakwood Nuuksio Helsinki will be developed through a partnership with Hotel Nuuksio Ltd and marks Ascott’s first property in Finland. Located 40 minutes from central Helsinki and close to Espoo, the resort is expected to target both leisure travellers and corporate retreat groups seeking wellness and nature-based experiences.
The now 65-room hotel will undergo a full renovation where there will be an addition of a new wing featuring 160 guest rooms, bringing the room total to 225.
Facilities will include an all-day dining restaurant, Nordic-inspired private dining experiences, a swimming pool, fitness centre, meeting and event space, and a lakeside “Sauna World” with traditional Finnish saunas and hot and cold-water pools, alongside activities such as snow hiking, cross-country skiing, forest yoga, canoeing and ice-diving.
Ngor Houai Lee, managing director, Europe at The Ascott Limited, said: “This signing marks an exciting milestone for Ascott as we introduce the Oakwood brand to Helsinki Nuuksio National Park.”
Ascott said the signing supports its strategy of expanding its resort portfolio and growing its European presence.
