US: Construction is set to begin on the Element by Westin extended stay hotel in Medford late August, located near Pear Blossom Park.
The 134-room extended stay hotel is due to break ground on the corner of Fourth and Bartlett streets, developed by Western Hospitality LLC.
As part of the development and pending approval, surrounding buildings on Apple and Third Street will need to be vacated.Â
The $25 million project was approved by the Medford Urban Renewal Agency (MURA) last year and is scheduled for completion in spring/summer 2027.
Each of the property’s rooms will offer fully equipped kitchenettes with hotel amenities including a fitness centre and breakfast bar.
Harry Weiss of MURA said to NBC5 News: “This will be the first new hotel in downtown Medford in almost 60 years. It will be a great opportunity for people who want to travel and stay in a downtown location.”
