UK: Serviced apartment provider House of Fisher has completed a refurbishment of its 100 Kings Road Aparthotel in Reading, UK.
The upgrades include modernised kitchens and bathrooms, the addition of 55-inch Smart TVs, and advanced front door security systems.
The company said it has also enhanced fireproofing and introduced a dedicated accessible apartment for guest safety and inclusivity. Key features of the accessible apartment include:
• Handheld shower as well as wall shower
• Accessible-friendly shower taps
• Removable chair
• Space for wheelchair access
• Two sinks and mirrors at different heights, accessible by wheelchair
• Extra handlebars for support
• Panic alarm for emergencies
Additionally, the aparthotel in Reading offers a terrace and a coworking space.
Originally an office building for Royal Sun Alliance, the property was acquired by T A Fisher and transformed into a mixed-use development. The ground and first floors were designated for Buzz Gym, a fitness facility, while the upper floors were converted into an aparthotel operated by House of Fisher.
The conversion was completed in 2013, resulting in a 50-suite aparthotel offering a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units.
Recent refurbishment plans at 100 Kings Road Aparthotel begun in 2023 which have now been completed.
