Australia: Flexible living operator Urban Rest has signed a hotel management agreement to run a 150-key property at 23-33 Lonsdale Street in Melbourne CBD, marking its largest project to date.
The multimillion-dollar refurbishment will transform the site into Urban Rest Melbourne CBD, set to launch in early 2026.
The project will target corporate travellers, offering apartment layouts with full kitchens, laundry facilities and work areas, alongside hotel-style amenities such as a Peloton-equipped gym, residents’ lounge, and co-working spaces.
The property will also feature digital check-in, check-out, and localised guest support for a seamless experience.
Urban Rest founder and CEO David Whelan said: “This project represents a massive milestone in our expansion strategy… [It] isn’t just about scale, it’s about setting a new benchmark for premium, digitally enabled corporate accommodation in one of the most dynamic cities in the world.”
