US: Method Co. Roost aparthotel brand has opened its latest property in Tampa, Florida with coliving spaces.

The US$3.5 billion development backed by Lightning owner Jeff Vinik and Bill Gates’ Cascade Investment.

The 97-key extended stay hotel occupies the same building as Asher, the largest residential tower in Water Street Tampa.

The development also has two co-living units with shared spaces and individual bedrooms.

Guests staying at Roost’s aparthotel will be able to enjoy the amenities in the residential tower, including the seventh-floor rooftop pool deck with cabanas, and communal spaces, as well as access to the gym.

Method Co. is managing the hospitality for both Roost and Asher, which includes a bike sharing scheme and community events, such as wine tastings and fitness classes in the communal kitchens and lounges.

The two coliving units feature a living room, kitchen and laundry area, as well as eight adjoining bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. The layout can be adapted according to use as bedrooms can be linked one by one or in groups of four or eight. Roost calls this concept “a hotel within a hotel.”

The coliving units can be rented for shorter periods of time.

Roost also opened an aparthotel in Cleveland in March this year.
