US: Extended stay hotel operator stayAPT Suites is planning to open two hotels in the San Antonio area next spring.

The North Carolina-based company, which is targeting attracting “travelling professionals, project-based workers and transitional housing customers”, is aiming to open 25 extended stay hotels by the end of 2022, including an 88-room, three-storey property near SeaWorld San Antonio, and a 76-room, three-storey hotel near Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph.

Each room will be at least 500 square feet in size and include an eat-in kitchen, appliances, a living room with a sleeper sofa, a separate bedroom with work space and televisions, and outdoor courtyards

stayAPT president and CEO, Gary A. DeLapp, said: “The beautiful San Antonio area is a travel attraction for many reasons, and we’re elated to soon offer our apartment-style hotel experience to its visitors. Ideal for business travellers including military and medical personnel, our comfortable suites will provide a better way to stay for everyone — and for any length of time.”

Having launched last year in the midst of the pandemic, stayAPT Suites currently operates five finished properties, with plans in place to open a further 100+ corporate-owned hotels and 200 franchised locations.

Earlier this year, the company revealed plans to open a three-storey property in Cordova, Memphis.
