India: Synergy Global Housing has announced the growth of its operational presence in India through reservations and guest services teams in its Bangalore office.
In 2022, Synergy increased the number of staff across its Bangalore, Singapore and Shanghai offices by 46 per cent. The company is also tax registered in four Indian states- Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Tellangana. This gives it the ability to bill its clients in Indian Rupees. For clients with local entities across India, this may result in additional savings across taxation and foreign exchange costs associated with their serviced accommodation programmes.
Robert Alley, international executive vice president, said that this move is “a game changer”. He said: “India is a complex market to navigate. With extended stay business travel accelerating across the country, we recognise just how critical it is to have a team of local experts on hand, who can provide local solutions to the opportunities the serviced accommodation industry faces across the country.”
Diana Ong, managing director APAC, said: “Synergy’s position in India continues to flourish. Taking into consideration the local nuances and opportunities our industry faces across India, we believe now is the right time to develop a more substantial presence across the country as we continue to deliver best-in-class accommodation programmes for our clients, wherever they are in the world.”
This comes after the company announced the addition of staff in the areas of supply chain, finance, sales, guest services and reservations throughout its Bangalore, Shanghai and Singapore offices.
