The Netherlands: Booking platform Yovivo has launched a feature to allow any hotel property offer extended stays of more than one month.

The latest feature on Yovivo allows travellers to request a long-stay booking from more than 350,000 hotels on the platform. All details are forwarded to the hotel, which in turn can either accept, reject or modify the request.

Once a request has been modified and/or accepted, the traveller can make payment via the platform.

Not all properties on Yovivo may want to offer extended stays, however the technology provides the option to do so in the future.

“Existing channel managers are generally designed for short stays,” said Yovivo’s tech lead, Derek Robins. “Yovivo displays properties with automatic inventory and without. If the user chooses a property without an extended stay, the system sends a request to the hotel’s intranet.”

Karen Kochmann, head of product at Yovivo, added: “The hotel market has to adjust, but not all brands have the ability, time or budget to adapt to consumers’ inclination towards longer trip. Remote work is quickly reshaping the travel industry, and many properties are struggling to keep up. Yovivo’s technology can help.”

With a registered office in Rotterdam, Yovivo is a hotel booking platform which currently allows both short and long term bookings.
