Australia: The Adina Apartment Hotel in Sydney Chippendale has undergone a multi-million dollar refurbishment of its interiors design.

The interior design team has described it as a breath of fresh air amongst a gritty, urban context. BKH, a Sydney-based company, led the redesign as its first hotel scheme in more than 10 years. It describes the new interior as retro-feel, citing inspiration from the architecture, courtyard, and pool of the aparthotel.

“There were a lot of things that resonated about the freshness of space,” said Iain Halliday, director of BKH. “The building was light and fresh in the urban context of Chippendale and, with its secluded courtyard and pool, had the potential to provide guests with something that felt more relaxed, with lots of natural materials and lots of white and bleached out colours, than an inner-city hotel.”

Operated by TFE Hotels, the 42-key aparthotel is located on Ivy Street at the southern edge of Sydney’s CBD.

“This urban lifestyle hotel has all the things you know and love about an Adina property including a kitchen and laundry that allow you stay your way and feel genuinely comfy in the space,” said Shahnaz Bakhshay, TFE Hotels director of sales. “Plus, it is superbly located near the Seymour Centre, Carriageworks, the Australian Technology Park, and close to the RPA and Redfern’s nightlife and we can’t wait to take it to market.”
