UK: Watkin Jones Group has been appointed by Marick Real Estate as the construction partner for a new Wilde aparthotel development in Oxford.
The appointment follows the earlier announcement that Staycity Group will operate the 145-unit Wilde aparthotel at the George Street development in Oxford.
The project will redevelop 38-40 George Street into a 145-unit aparthotel under the Wilde brand, operated by Staycity Group.
The development will also include a 400 sqm community space, which is being delivered in partnership with Makespace Oxfordshire.
The development is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2029 and will be handed over to Marick Real Estate, Staycity Group, and Oxford City Council.
Commenting on the appointment, Alex Pease, from Watkin Jones, said: “This is a strong addition to our delivery pipeline, further supporting our diversification into the hotel sector and marking our first development partnership with Marick Real Estate.”
The Oxford project marks the first collaboration between Watkin Jones and Marick Real Estate. It also expands Watkin Jones’ work in the hotel sector alongside its existing residential development projects.
Staycity Group’s lifestyle aparthotel brand is Wilde and properties are spread throughout the UK and Europe.
