US: Work has started on the dual branded Canopy by Hilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton Nashville Downtown the Gulch.

Hilton announced on 24 February that they have signed and broke ground on their first dual-branded property in downtown Nashville. The property will be branded under both Canopy by Hilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton Nashville Downtown the Gulch, in partnership with Tara Investments.

The 11-story property will be Hilton’s first lifestyle hotel in Nashville and is slated for completion in 2024.

The 910 Division Street property will be divided into the 181-room Canopy hotel and the 152-suite Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotel. Each property will be pet friendly and feature a 1,785-square-foot shared fitness center available to both hotels’ guests. Each hotel will have meeting and event space, with 1,607 square feet at Canopy and 795 square feet at Homewood Suites.

ODA architectural firm designed the dual-branded property along with interior design provided by Campbell House. Development is led by Tara Investments with financing partner Goldman Sachs. Yates Construction is leading the construction project.

The Gulch is a newly revitilized urban area in downtown Nashville that offers murals by local artists, shops, restaurants, breweries and more. The dual hotel will be constructed on the former site of the Yazoo Brewing Company.

Key components of the Canopy hotel include a modern and welcoming reception area, an industrial design featuring wood floors and concrete ceilings, and cold-rolled steel stairs. Guest rooms include a custom painted particle board, metal mesh bed canopy, denim and leather headboards, and a barn door made of reclaimed metal. Custom furniture pieces in metal and reclaimed wood will also be included, such as a closet, minibar and desk.

The Canopy hotel will also feature a coffee bar, restaurant, and Yazoo taproom in “Common Place”, along with a rooftop bar that offers an indoor and outdoor space with three outdoor terraces and an agave garden in “Afterglow-The Rooftop Bar”.

Hotel team members, named “Canopy Enthusiasts”, can schedule a city tour, get suggestions of local hidden gems, and take a ride on a complimentary Canopy Bike.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton offers home-like accommodations for guests traveling for an extended stay or overnight trip that are looking for value-driven amenities. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast and other services of an upscale hotel.

Access to Homewood Suites by Hilton is planned to sit behind the Canopy by Hilton on Overton Street with a jump lobby where guests can unload luggage. The hotel sky lobby is on the tenth floor that is designed with inverted pitched roofs. It also features city skyline views, an enclosed garden courtyard, and stone fireplace.

Suites within the hotel will include separate living and sleeping areas, pitched ceilings and wood-enclosed bathrooms. Each suite will also be outfitted with a modern kitchenette and neutral toned furniture.

Art pieces within the Homewood Suites will pay a tribute to the musical connections in Nashville as well as the natural landscape of the area.

Both Canopy by Hilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton Nashville Downtown The Gulch will participate in Hilton Honors, its guest loyalty program for Hilton’s portfolio of 18 hotel brands. Members who book directly will gain access to benefits such as the flexible payment slider to choose between a combination of points and money to book a stay, member discounts, free Wi-Fi and access to the Hilton Honors mobile app.
