Portugal: Hospitality technology provider and apartment operator limehome has signed more than 100 units in Lisbon and Porto which expands its presence in the country by eight-fold in less than six months.
54 of the new apartments in Portugal are located in the centre of Lisbon. It marks limehome’s first project in the capital, located in the old town of the city. The units are spread across four buildings and are scheduled to be available from early 2024.
In Porto, limehome has more than quadrupled its inventory with new units being built in three locations. The Cedofeita district, where one of the new developments is located, will open in the summer of 2023. Additional apartments will open in the second half of 2023 near the Jardins do Palacio de Cristal, a Victorian garden complex in the city centre, and in the Bonfim district.
Josef Vollmayr, co-founder and managing director of limehome said: “Portugal is a particularly attractive location from a hospitality perspective, as the country has established itself over the last few years as one of the main travel destinations for millennials. The country’s strong economic growth is also expected to boost business travel over the next few years.
“Our design apartments offer ideal accommodation for both segments. We will continue our European expansion and develop it with strong partners. Our digital business model has now proven itself in many countries and locations.”
Locations in smaller cities across Portugal and in the Algarve are also in the pipeline.
Recently, limehome has announced new projects in Germany with 82 apartments. The company’s growth across Europe follows a €45 million funding round which limehome closed in November 2022.
