USA: WoodSpring Suites, the new-build extended-stay brand from Choice Hotels, has opened six hotels during the month of May with 300 in the pipeline across the US.
The openings account for 732 new economy extended-stay rooms and 1,414 total new rooms for the brand since January 2023. WoodSpring Suites also has about 38,000 rooms in the domestic pipeline.
Recent locations for WoodSpring Suites include New York, Texas, Virginia, Illinois, Florida and California.
In total, Choice Hotels’ extended stay brands have reached nearly 500 units in the US at the end of Q1 2023, a 28 per cent increase year-on-year. Additional openings are expected under brands including Suburban Studios, MainStay Suites and Everhome Suites.

These hotels are now opening and with demand for this segment outpacing supply by nearly two to one, plus continued interest from institutional investors, we’re going to keep opening WoodSpring Suites across the country.”
This year, Hilton and Marriott have announced brand launches in the extended stay sector.
