Spain: The four-star Punta Calera Aparthotel has opened in the coastal town of Los Alcázares.
The 52-unit Punta Calera Aparthotel is housed in a building which has been closed for 15 years. The site has now been restored as part of a private investment initiative led by the owner and company La Niña del Sur.
It features fully equipped apartments spread across four floors, available in one-, two-, and three-bedroom layouts.
Each unit includes a kitchen and bathroom, providing guests with flexible, self-catering options. Additional amenities include a 24-hour reception, café, private parking, and EV charging stations.
Local authorities have welcomed the reopening, highlighting its positive economic and social impact, saying that the project aligns with a broader strategy to promote active, sustainable, and year-round tourism along the Mar Menor.
María José Díaz Aragón, councillor for tourism, said: “This kind of project not only improves our town’s image, but also creates jobs and boosts the local economy.”
