Turkey: Ascott has opened the 165-unit Somerset Maslak Istanbul, its first property in Turkey.

The serviced residence is part of the cityโ€™s new Maslak 1453 mixed-use scheme, which is described as the largest lifestyle development complex in Europe, spanning more than two million square metres.

The property is located in Istanbulโ€™s commercial hub, home to multinational corporations, such as Ericsson, Cisco and Ford as well as educational institutions, including Nisantasi University and the historic Istanbul Technical University.

โ€œWe are excited to open Ascottโ€˜s first serviced residence in one of the worldโ€™s most vibrant and dynamic cities, Istanbul. Visitors can now experience Ascottโ€™s signature hospitality service that has already become a hallmark of our properties in more than 120 cities across 31 countries,โ€ said Ascott country general manager, Middle East and Turkey, Vincent Miccolis.

He continued: โ€œLocated within the Maslak district in Istanbul, Somerset Maslak Istanbul is at the heart of a cosmopolitan hub that is a major centre for business and containing many of Istanbulโ€™s most appealing landmarks, so we expect to attract a varied mix of leisure and business travellers.โ€
