Reading Time: 2 minutes

Germany: Marriott has signed an agreement with Betriebs- und Service GmbH to convert the Dein Apart property on the northern edge of Munich into an Element by Marriott extended stay hotel.

The property will undergo a renovation before rebranding and reopening as Element by Marriott Munich Unterföhring in September 2026.

It is spread across three interconnected buildings and is expected to feature 561 studios and apartments, each with an in-room kitchenette. Amenities are set to include a bar and restaurant, as well as a grab-and-go option, a MICE conference centre, and a gym.

Tim Zeichhardt, VP development for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Marriott, said: “Germany remains a priority growth market for Marriott International, and the signing of Element by Marriott Munich Unterföhring reflects our continued confidence in the depth of the country and the ongoing demand we are seeing for accommodation in the extended-stay segment.  We look forward to working with Betriebs- und Service GmbH to introduce the brand’s signature attributes and long-stay experience to travellers in one of the country’s key business hubs.”

Oliver Thies, CEO of Betriebs- und Service GmbH and co-owner of the property, added: “Our vision is to create a location that sets new standards for long-stay hospitality in Germany – a place where every guest enjoys space, comfort, and flexibility and, whether staying for days or months, experiences a true ‘home-away-from-home’ with first-class service. Together with Marriott, we are committed to turning this vision into reality and shaping an exciting new chapter for our property.”
