Northern Ireland: IHM’s popular Recharge event returns for its sixth annual edition on 22-23 January as industry leaders from across the travel, hospitality and real estate spectrum get set to convene in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Tickets for the two-day conference are still available at this link and here are our reasons why you simply cannot afford to miss this year’s Recharge:

  • Belfast – our 2024 host city

Belfast will be the perfect spot for Recharge 2024. The capital city of Northern Ireland abounds with great food, top-tier attractions and welcoming locals with cheeky charm and fierce wit. Not to mention the ubiquitous craic, which the city runs on as an abundant natural resource.

Also, Irish hospitality is famous around the world. Belfast’s inhabitants are friendly, informative, and, most importantly, great craic. No matter when you go or where you go, you’re likely to make a few friends whether you mean to or not.

Besides the great people, food and amazing culture, Belfast also offers great opportunities for hospitality and real estate!

  • A low-carbon venue

With 175 rooms, four collaborative event spaces, a trendy restaurant and bar, and tea experience room, room2 Belfast on Queen Street will be the venue for Recharge 2024.

The hometel, which caters to everything from short overnight stays to long-term stays away from home, forges a deep connection between its guests and the vibrant heartbeat of Belfast. While its design exudes the wit and charm of its people, room2 Belfast also embraces the city’s famous lively music and art culture.

On top of that, the hometel says it is “proudly blazing the trail towards a greener future” as a 100 per cent electric and low-energy property. The brand’s pledge to support the planet also extends to committing to zero waste to landfill and leaving no trace behind.

  • “Groundbreaking” property tours

As is now traditional at our Recharge events, we kick start Day One with a welcome lunch for Rechargers at Hilton Belfast [courtesy of Pandox AB], before heading off on a “curated experiential urban expedition” to explore Belfast and visit some groundbreaking hospitality and real estate properties along the way.

Spread across a 2.2-mile stretch, Rechargers will get the chance to tour Hilton Belfast, The Regency and Crescent One [luxury private residences and meeting and events venue], Wilton House Belfast [Georgian town house serviced accommodation] and Urban HQ [flexible workspace].

The first day culminates with a surprise drinks reception at a mystery venue in Belfast, and those seeking free time to explore the city’s nightlife are invited for a celebratory ‘nightcap’ after that.

  • A wide breadth of sessions

Forget walking through an exhibit hall or sitting through hours of boardroom presentations – the Recharge agenda promises an intense focus on collaboration and debate, bursting with innovation and ‘personality’.

Set around a mantra of ‘intimate and personable, peer-led learning, unforgettable networking and a collaborative approach’, the majority of sessions will be ‘short and punchy’, curated in debate, workshop and problem solving formats to help stimulate collective conservation, collaboration, innovation and value creation to help drive your business and the sector forward.

We encourage a new way of thinking that challenges the status quo positively and prepares attendees to look at doing business differently.

Sessions include: A keynote speech from Cathy Reynolds, director, city regeneration & development, Belfast City Council; an investor and developer panel; a presentation on net zero carbon in operational real estate; a flexible living discussion on the future of apartment buildings; and a proptech challenge workshop.

  • Excellent collaborative and networking opportunities

At Recharge, we pride ourselves on welcoming urban innovators at the cutting edge of contemporary hospitality, real estate and living.

There will be numerous networking across the two days, from the Day One property tours to the second day ‘Precharge’ activities and coffee breaks between sessions, giving you the chance to connect with peers and meet plenty of new faces.

Speakers will be represented from companies such as: Lamington Group; STR; IMS; Charles Hope Apartments; Crowe Ireland; Lioncor; Central Belfast Apartments; T5 Strategies; the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and many more.

Recharge is also the perfect opportunity to meet and connect with the IHM team, including George Sell [editor-in-chief] and Paul Stevens [editor – short-term rentals] from the editorial team. Get in touch if you would be interested in participating in future content opportunities with our respected B2B media brands!
