UK: Plans have been submitted for a new aparthotel development in Bradford city centre, as part of wider regeneration efforts in the area.

The proposal, lodged by Mi7 Developments, outlines a 32-room aparthotel on a triangular site at the junction of Thornton Road and Listerhills Road. The scheme also includes four ground-floor commercial units and a rooftop café, and forms part of a wider regeneration strategy for the area.

Designed as a “boutique” aparthotel, the scheme is intended to serve visiting professionals, students and tourists, with the developer stating that it will help address demand for short-stay accommodation in the city.

The site sits close to the University of Bradford and key transport routes into the city centre.

The project follows a number of recent planning approvals in the area, including schemes for residential development, student accommodation and commercial uses. The application notes that the wider area has been subject to ongoing regeneration efforts, with the aparthotel intended to complement nearby developments and contribute to economic activity.

Plans include ground-floor retail units, a rooftop cafe with views across the city, and a compact building footprint designed to maximise use of the constrained site. The scheme is expected to create both full- and part-time employment once operational.

Highlights:

The application is currently under consideration by Bradford Council, with a decision expected later this year.
