The cousins are seeking approval for the four-storey, 88-room extended-stay hotel near Washington Ave. and Oakes Road.
The site is about five miles from the manufacturing campus planned by Foxconn Technology Group. Mihir Patel said the plans for the Staybridge property were inspired in part by the prospect of the Foxconn project, which will employ up to 13,000 people, and also by the lack of extended stay properties in the area.
“The market needs something extended stay with a kitchen and rooms,” Patel said.
If the project receives approval, it is expected to open before summer of 2019.
Patel said he, his cousin and their partners operate 12 other hotels, with the properties in the Green Bay area and in Indiana.
