Australia: Accor Hotels and owner Dalmeera Group have announced a new-build Sebel aparthotel in Melbourne’s inner-east suburb of Malvern.

The Sebel Melbourne Malvern is scheduled to open in late November and will add 98 serviced apartments to Malvern’s accommodation supply. Spanning 17 floors, the property features 46 one-bedroom suites, 36 two-bedroom suites and four three-bedroom suites, all with full kitchen and laundry facilities.

The property will have an executive lounge, fitness centre, jacuzzi, and an expansive outdoor recreation terrace with BBQ facilities. The ground floor will be home to retailers and restaurants, leased to external operators.

Chief operating officer, Pacific for AccorHotels, Simon McGrath, said: “This is a strategic and significant new apartment hotel development for the inner-city suburb of Malvern which is currently experiencing a resurgence of ultra-modern new developments, due to its close proximity to Melbourne’s bustling CBD.”

“We jumped at the opportunity to introduce an upscale apartment hotel to Malvern with Dalmeera Group, a burgeoning area in need of stylish accommodation options. The Sebel Melbourne Malvern will showcase both the sophistication and independent flexibility that our guests expect from The Sebel brand,” he added.

The Sebel Melbourne Malvern joins a network of 28 internationally branded The Sebel hotels across Australia and New Zealand.
