UK: Aparthotels Adagio has appointed Alex van Pelt to focus on expanding its UK and Ireland portfolio.
She brings 15 years’ experience to the new role having worked primarily in hotel advisory and brokerage at CBRE, DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield) and Christie & Co, as well as for international operator Marriott Vacation Club International.
Adagio, Europe’s largest aparthotel operator, offers two brands (midscale Adagio and economy Adagio access) and is looking to actively grow both of these via lease, management and franchise with a major focus now on the UK and Ireland.
Its current UK locations include Edinburgh, Liverpool, Birmingham and most recently London Brentford. A further six aparthotels form part of the UK pipeline including London Stratford, London Whitechapel, Glasgow and Cambridge.
Van Pelt said: “The UK and Ireland represents an extremely attractive market for our future growth offering numerous cities which benefit from a balanced demand profile where we believe our extended-stay model will thrive. With the backing of two very strong leisure experts, Accor and Pierre & Vacances, our proposition is compelling in the current market.”</p
